What is Stairlin and why do you exist?

Stairlin is a tech company with headquarters in Lausanne and offices in Zurich. At the moment we are focused in building the first truly digitised marketplace for services in Switzerland and Europe.
As a company we are obsessed by finding smart ways to get rid of the unnecessary thinking that clods our minds every day of the week and drags us down: “Did I send this bill to the insurance?” “Oh yes I need to call back to cancel the appointment!” “Did they confirm my reservation? When will I know?” We want to eliminate these thousands of paper cuts that eat away minutes and hours of our lives so we can focus on what really matters in the end: better relationships with our friends, families and customers.

What problems are you solving?

Searching, booking and paying for services is still mostly a pain in Switzerland and Europe in general. For small service providers bookings, payments and customer management are done manually in most cases. All tasks revolving around bookings are also mainly manual (send or track invoices, check who has paid or not, and so on).
This is why we want to build a marketplace for services, where anyone can easily start or run its business online and where anyone can find, book and pay for what they need in 15 seconds or less.

What is the current state of Stairlin? Are you in beta?

As of August 2017 Stairlin is in Open Beta. This means anyone can try Stairlin. All you need is to register on our landing page and setup your business profile. After a few minutes you can already offer your services online 24/7 anywhere on the internet to your customers (including through Google, Facebook, Instagram, your website etc).

When will Stairlin launch?

In September this year. The first version will include more features to help you manage your customer relations and your invoicing.

How can I register my business on Stairlin?

All you have to do is select register on our landing page. From there you can create your business in less than two minutes. You only have to provide some essential informations like which industry your business operates in, a short description of your business, and a few other details.

How can I setup my business on Stairlin so that people can book my services?

To set up your business hours schedule: click on the Stairlin logo, select business settings, calendar and finally availabilities.
To set up what services you offer: click on the Stairlin logo, select business settings then services.

Do I need to install or download anything for Stairlin to work?

There is no need to install anything for Stairlin to work. All you need is a web browser on a phone, tablet, computer, whatever you use every day, and an internet connection.
That being said, we might include an app in the future to improve the user experience even more on phones and tablets, but that will be optional to use as well.

What happens if I don’t have an internet connection?

For the Open Beta, you won’t be able to use Stairlin without an internet connection. But not to worry, Stairlin will have your back even if you don’t have internet with future releases: you will be able to check your calendar, appointments, bills, customer relations and even use the app in general without a connection. Stairlin will patiently wait in the background that you get coverage again and will then synchronise the data.
In case this synchronisation generates a conflict, for example because you created an appointment offline and one of your customer did book another one online at the same time, Stairlin will notify you and allow you to either change the appointment or keep both appointments at the same time if you can handle them.

The app looks strange on a big screen, is this normal?

Yes, it is normal… for now :). We are building Stairlin “Mobile First”. That means Stairlin is built with smartphones in mind first, and for bigger device later. This is because we want to make sure anyone can use Stairlin: even if all you have is a very small and cheap smartphone we want you and your customers to have a great experience using Stairlin.
As we mentioned above however, we will roll out further versions that will look gorgeous on bigger screens like tablets and computers. In addition, these bigger screens will allow us to display more information at once for an even better experience.

Where can my customers book my services?

With Stairlin your customers can book your services wherever you want. You know your customer best: do you get in touch with them through Facebook? Through Instagram? Through your website? From Google? All you have to do is link your Stairlin Business page to these platforms and your customers can book your services right away.

I use social networks or my website to interact with my customers, do I need to change that now for people to book my services online?

No you do not! We want you to use whatever channel you like best at the moment, but simply make it better, so that your customers can more easily book and pay for your services. Have a Facebook account? No problem, you can add a “book now” button that redirects to your business page. Same goes for any other method you use at the moment, just provide a link to your Stairlin business page on them.

How do you ensure the security of my account?

We use your phone number to ensure your identity and keep your account secure. This is because good passwords are hard for human to create and remember, so most passwords we use are very easy for computers to crack. This is why we have opted for a first layer of identification through your mobile phone. We also plan to add other identification methods in the future to further increase the security on your account.

When will Stairlin be available in my regions?

We plan focus on Switzerland first. However if you are in Europe or the UK and would like to try Stairlin for your business, you should be able to do so as well. The beta already supports Euro and GBP and several VAT rates. We might just not be able to provide the same level of support we offer in Switzerland in the upcoming months, but we certainly will do our best to help you no matter what.

Is Stairlin available in other languages?

During our Beta, Stairlin is mostly in English (although you can already create services for your business in different languages and customers receive text confirmations in their prefered language). Our core version will then support French and German as well. Should we have a great demand for other languages we will consider adding them as well, but we will wait to get more feedback from our community first.

How do I cancel/delete my account?

If you are a business owner, switch to your business account, head to the business settings, and click the 'Delete Account' link under the 'Account' heading there.
Once your business account deleted, you can then delete your personal account from the user settings.
